Ms. Lim is in her 20th year of teaching at Covington MS Fine Arts Academy. She received her Bachelor of Music Education and a French minor at Louisiana State University in 2004. At LSU, she was a member of the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band and the Golden Band from Tigerland. She was a Band Librarian and Clarinet section leader. Ms. Lim completed a masters degree at Concordia University Texas in Education (Administration). Ms. Lim is also currently Adjunct Faculty for Woodwind Methods at Concordia University Texas.
At Covington, Ms. Lim teaches the Wind Ensemble, Honors Beginning Band, Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet and French Horn. Her ensembles have consistently received Sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sightreading.
Ms. Lim hosts HS Band UIL, Region Auditions, and is the TMEA Region 18 MS Band Chair. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, running (half marathons) and exploring new restaurants.

Arnie Yanez graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1990. He began his teaching career with AISD in 1991. In 2012, Arnie started teaching at Covington Middle School Fine Arts Academy. He currently teaches the Gold Band, Beginning Percussion, Beginning Trombone, Beginning Euphonium, Beginning Tuba, Two Steel Drum classes and the Jazz Band. In addition, he team teaches the Wind Ensemble.
At Covington Middle School, the Steel Drum program has tripled in size to 50 students. This program draws from fine arts students in band, orchestra, guitar, and choir. The Covington Jazz Band is recognized as one of the top middle school bands in the district. Both the Jazz Band and Steel Drum groups are regularly invited to perform at District wide events, representing Covington’s Fine Arts Academy and AISD.
As a professional musician, he has performed in over 100 musicals including performances at New York City’s New Victory Theater with the Flaming Idiots. He has been the house percussionist at ZACH Theatre for 28 years. Arnie has worked as a studio drummer and percussionist for radio, television and film soundtracks as well as various jazz and rock bands in the Austin area. As a member of the band “Gravy”, he regularly appeared in the locally produced PBS television series “The Biscuit Brother’s Show”. The show focused on teaching music concepts and styles to preschool aged children.
For the past 16 years, Arnie has served as Percussion Specialist for the Austin Youth Orchestra, teaching local middle school and high school students orchestral literature.
